What E15 Means

E15 indicates water has leaked into the bottom base pan (sump) of the dishwasher. A float switch in the base detects the water and activates the safety protocol: the drain pump runs non-stop to prevent flooding, and all other functions are disabled. This is a protective feature, not a malfunction of the electronics.

Common Causes

In our field experience, these are the most common sources of the leak:

• Over-sudsing: Using regular dish soap or too much detergent causes excessive foam that overflows into the base pan.
• Worn door seal: The rubber gasket around the door loses elasticity over time, especially in dry climates like Sacramento.
