Integrated, panel-ready, and standard built-in dishwashers across the Bay Area and Greater Sacramento. OEM parts, current factory service procedures, same-day service available.
Dishwashers fail in a small number of well-understood ways, and the diagnosis usually comes down to water in, water out, or heat.
Drain side. The coarse filter and sump are the first check and account for a surprising share of calls. Beyond that: a blocked drain hose, a failed drain pump impeller, a stuck check valve, or an air gap at the sink that has silted up. On integrated units the hose run is longer and sags more, which makes standing water in a low spot a recurring cause.
Almost never the detergent. Spray arm jets clog with mineral scale and food debris, the wash pump loses pressure, or the unit is not reaching wash temperature because the heating element or its control has failed. Hard water across Sacramento County and the East Bay accelerates all three.
Door seal, sump gasket, or a spray arm bearing leaking under pressure. Machines with a base leak sensor will shut down and refuse to run rather than flood, which reads as a failure but is the safety system doing its job. Finding the actual leak matters more than resetting the sensor.
Door latch switch first, since the control will not energise anything until it confirms the door is closed. After that: the water inlet valve, the flow meter that counts fill volume, and the control board. An intermittent latch is the single most common misdiagnosis in this category.
Condensation drying depends on the load reaching temperature and the door opening at the right moment. Low rinse aid, an overloaded upper rack, a failed door-opening mechanism, or plastics that simply do not hold heat all produce the same complaint, and only one of them is a repair.
Codes narrow the search but do not name the part. A fill-time fault can be a valve, a flow meter, a kinked supply, or low house pressure. We read the code, then verify it against the actual circuit rather than replacing what the code suggests.
In-warranty and out-of-warranty, with manufacturer parts accounts and current service documentation.
We repair these units, but warranty claims go through the manufacturer's own network.
Diagnosis runs the machine rather than guessing at it. Fill volume and timing, wash temperature at the element, pump pressure at the arms, and drain behaviour through a full cycle tell us which of the three subsystems is at fault. Most dishwasher repairs are completed on the first visit for exactly this reason.
Integrated and panel-ready units add an installation dimension. Doors that no longer seal, units racked slightly out of square in the cabinet opening, and drain hoses without a proper high loop produce leaks and drainage complaints that no replacement part will fix. We correct the install where that is the cause.
Parts come through manufacturer channels. On brands where we hold factory authorization that also means access to current service bulletins, which matters because several common failures have superseded part numbers that address the original design rather than repeating it.

Almost always the filter and sump rather than the drain line. Food residue collects under the coarse filter and goes anaerobic. Pulling and washing the filter monthly resolves it in most cases; where the smell persists after that, the check valve or a sagging drain hose is holding water.
On a premium integrated unit, usually yes. A pump, valve, or control board is a few hundred dollars against $1,800 to $4,000 for replacement plus the cabinetry work an integrated swap involves. On an entry-level machine past eight years the arithmetic often goes the other way, and we say so.
Yes, but pods dissolve on a fixed schedule and some short cycles do not give them time. Where cleaning results are marginal, switching to powder or gel and adding rinse aid resolves it more often than any repair.
No. For Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, and Dacor we work out of warranty only — warranty claims go through the manufacturer's own network. We use OEM parts either way.
Ten to fifteen years on premium units with the wash pump and control board as the usual wear items. Filter maintenance and rinse aid have more effect on that number than the brand does.
