Built-in microwaves, microwave drawers and speed ovens are three different appliances sharing a heating principle. A speed oven adds convection and often broil to the same cavity, which means two heating systems and a shared control.
These are the subsystems a diagnosis works through. Which one is at fault is determined by measurement on site, not by the symptom alone.
Multiple interlock switches that must operate in sequence. This is the primary safety system and the first thing verified on any microwave complaint.
Magnetron, high-voltage transformer, capacitor and diode. The capacitor holds a lethal charge after disconnection and is discharged before any other work.
Control board, membrane or touch panel, and the display.
A motorised drawer mechanism with its own position sensing, absent from conventional built-ins.
Convection fan, element and temperature sensing on top of the microwave section.

Microwave service is not a category for do-it-yourself work. The high-voltage capacitor stores enough energy to be dangerous long after the appliance is unplugged.
Have the model and serial number from the rating plate ready, and note when the problem started, whether it is constant or intermittent, and any code on the display. That determines which parts are carried to the visit. Appointments run in a two-hour arrival window and an adult 18 or older needs to be present for the full window.
